Foundation

A very warm welcome to Term 1, 2024! I trust that you have had a relaxing Christmas and New Year and managed to have a nice family time during the break.

A special welcome to our new families. Redlands is known for its open and warm community and I hope you will feel an important part of it soon. There will certainly be many opportunities to meet other families at our annual Parents & Friends Twilight Twilight in the Garden parent welcome in the Fahl Garden on Friday 16 February – save the date now!

This year, it is wonderful to be celebrating 140 Years of Redlands History. As part of these milestone celebrations, the Foundation will be focused on support for the High Country Campus Appeal and the Coralie Amos Means Test Scholarship.

Expanding the High Country Campus

Originally developed by the School in partnership with the Redlands Parents and Friends Association, High Country Campus was opened in 1996 with two accommodation buildings. Our flagship Winter School is a nine-week residential program currently for Year 10 students based at our High Country Campus outside Jindabyne. This unique hybrid on snow and on campus program provides exceptional experiential learning for students to develop their confidence, independence and resilience, working towards social, academic and personal goals in a residential environment that is both supportive and challenging.

The Experiential Learning Program for our Year 9 students will commence in 2025. Students will have the opportunity to spend either Term 1 or Term 2 at our High Country Campus, with specifically tailored academic, pastoral, leadership, service, First Nations and outdoor education programs. To accommodate the whole of Year 9 split over two terms, we will be expanding our facilities to house approximately 20 more students and 12 more staff. This expansion of High Country Campus facilities will also provide the opportunity for more students to experience our Winter School program.
