Community Update
It was a pleasure to welcome more than 200 parents, grandparents, students and carers onto the Senior Campus early this week for our Secondary School Open Morning. Students from Year 9, supported by our leadership team, hosted small group tours answering questions and providing a wonderful insight into life at Redlands for our guests. Redlands’ reputation as a leading school of choice for families, both nationally and internationally, continues to grow through our focus on each individual student, exceptional teachers and world-class learning programs and resources.
We were also delighted to host Redlands parents and carers from Redlands House to Year 9 on Monday evening for an information evening on HSC and IB where our Senior Studies programs, along with myths and misconceptions around ‘rankings’ and measures of success, were shared. This important session was recorded for those that couldn’t make it. A link to the presentation will be shared shortly through Pulse.
A reminder that bookings remain open for the Redlands Community Midawarr Arnhem Land Trip scheduled from Sunday 26 to Thursday 30 May 2024. To whet your appetite on what you might experience on this once in a lifetime trip, click here to watch a short highlight video of our 2023 Year 9 cohort and their teachers immerse themselves in this ancient culture.
Our partnership with Culture College inspires and educates through the sharing of unique experiences and the celebration of traditional Yolŋu knowledge systems and customs, all shared in an authentic Yolŋu setting in northeast Arnhem Land. First Nations educators from along the East Coast also teach the diversity of their cultures and customs alongside Yolŋu, threading the stories together.
This is quite literally a once in a lifetime opportunity to deeply explore miny’tji (art), manikay (song), bunggul (dance) and story-telling at Gulkula, the site of the annual Garma Festival. To reserve a place on this exclusive trip please complete the booking form here.
Thank you for your continued guidance and support and as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team, or to me directly, should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
