Year 8

Project Rockit

On Wednesday this week, Yr 8 students engaged in a workshop lead by Project Rockit. The group is  a nationwide grassroots movement of young people united to build a world where kindness and respect thrive over bullying, hate and prejudice.

Year 8 experienced the ‘Level Up’ program which focused on the big idea ““You already have everything you need today to start making the positive change you want to see in the world.” Students worked through a set of activities which allowed them to unpack their attitudes toward leadership and what they consider to be a just society.

Students Living Redlands Values

The Japan Club meets on a weekly basis to provide students an opportunity to practise their language skills and provide a deeper insight into the course they are studying formally. Two of our Yr 8 students have been giving up their lunchtimes to provide tutorials for Yr 7 students, helping them acquire the Japanese Hiragana script in preparation for the Yr 8 Japanese course next year.

Well done to Abby Stante and Evie Krallis for living the Redlands values and taking on board the ‘other people matter’ focus we currently have this term.
