Chaplain
This week we recognised the upcoming graduation of Year 6 with a special Chapel. It was an opportunity to farewell Year 6 from Chapels in the Junior School and make a formal introduction to Chaplaincy in the Secondary School. In a moving ceremony at St Peters Cremorne, Ms Philips the Secondary Chaplain encouraged them to continually let the light of Christ shine and they received a candle as a symbol of the light they have experienced at Redlands.
The students made wonderful contributions to the service with readings, prayers and participation in the candle lighting ceremony. It served as a reminder of how connected as a community we are to our school values and the light and hope that God has for all.
Mr Corcoran shared this prayer for and about our students in the lighting of the candles ceremony.
“We give thanks to our God for all you have given to this school and for the people you have become.
We send you forward in your journey with our richest blessings, confident in the knowledge that a light of love, learning and integrity burns within each of you.
That you will carry onwards to make a contribution to the world and in the lives of others.
May the spark lit here at Redlands shine brightly for each of you as you leave the Redlands Junior School. The glow from each candle is symbolic of the light that you have received from us and which we trust you will carry forward always.
