Chaplain

We all know that uttering ‘how are you?” as you fly past someone in the hallway is often well meaning but many times does not allow opportunity to stop and hear the answer.

Today is RUOK? Day. An idea developed from the need to build our communities and to start helpful conversations that allow us to respond with authenticity and honesty. This year the tag line is “I am here to hear” At Redlands we are keen to give our students plenty of opportunities to check in with each other and their families and build skill in being excellent listeners.

Jesus was ahead of the times when he calls us to give him our burdens. He promoted a community where honest and rich connections are made. He calls us to love others with a deep active and accepting love.

Across the School, in our classes and in Chapel, our students have been given opportunities to ask RUOK? and to give time ‘listening ears’ in response. As a community let us encourage each other to be shining lights at school and beyond by being ‘here to hear’.
