Redlands Parents and Friends

Second-Hand Uniforms

Thank you to everyone who came to support the Second Hand Uniform Sale of summer and sport uniforms last week. We raised another $2,500 for the means-tested Redlands Foundation Scholarship Fund.

We are planning on holding another sale on Tues 12 Sept from 8am to 9am and Wed 13 Sept from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

We are also working with the Redlands Sustainability team to determine the best strategy for recycling old uniforms. If you have good quality summer uniforms or sports uniforms to donate, please drop them off at the Uniform Shop. Otherwise, please hold on to your winter uniforms for the time being as both the RPFA unit and Uniform Shop do not have space for storage. Please note we are not collecting any items for recycling (eg old sports uniforms) at this time. Please also do not bring in: used socks; dirty, stained or torn items; items purchased from external parties (Marks & Spencer’s, Next) as we cannot sell these items.

Walks on Tracks

Weekly guided walks around the northern Sydney area are organised by an RPFA volunteer. This is a great way to meet other Redlands parents and get in shape, plus a wonderful way to spend a morning discovering the many paths of the Sydney area.

The invitation for walks is open, so if you have friends or family who you think would like to come along, please feel free to bring them. Dogs are also welcome on most walks.

Our walk next week on Wed 13 Sept is from Cammeray to Northbridge. Meet at Tunks Park, Brothers Ave at 8.40am.

Any questions, please contact Tania on 0430 117 230.

Book Club

The Redlands Book Club is a group of Redlands parents – past and present – who share a love of reading. New members are always welcome! The Book Club meets twice each school term to discuss a book, rotating among members’ homes. Occasionally, outings are also organised to events, movies or shows that are tied in with books, including annual attendance at the Sydney Writer’s festival in May. If you would like to join Book Club, or simply want to know more, please contact Monica or Sabiha.

Our next meeting is Mon 18 Sept at 10am. We will be discussing Babel by R.F. Kuang. We are now in the process of voting for the next books to read, so watch this space.
