Legally Blonde Auditions

Harvard’s beloved blonde takes the Redlands stage by pink storm in this fun, upbeat story of self-discovery. Action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances – this musical is so much fun, it should be illegal!

Auditions for Redlands 2024 Senior Musical: Legally Blonde  are in Week 8! It would be criminal to miss the opportunity to go to Harvard Law as Elle Woods, or teach a class as the villainous Professor Callahan, or just have the time of your life in the Greek Chorus of the Delta Nu Sorority!

Auditions for Orchestra will be held in Week 9 for our superstar musicians.

There’s still time to sign up! Complete the google form found in the audition pack to secure your slot.

We can’t wait to see all the talent Redlands has to share. What? Like it’s hard?

Our Year 11 HSC Drama Showcase Performance evening is taking place on Friday the 8 of September at 6:30pm in the Drama Studio. The students will be performing a range of performances from units they have studied this year, dramatic forms and styles, we warmly invite you to attend.

Yr 10 Drama Excursion – Constellations

Last week we took Year 10 Drama students to see Sydney Theatre Company’s production of ‘Constellations’ – Nick Payne’s gloriously romantic West End hit and winner of the 2022 Olivier Award for Best Play Revival. As heartrending as it is splendid, Constellations told the story of beekeeper Roland, and quantum physicist Marianne: two (literally) star-crossed lovers whose relationship we saw in a series of different ‘what if?’ variations – their joy and heartbreak, their laughter and quarrels, their break-ups and make-ups. The result for our Year 10 Drama students who were studying realism acting techniques this term was a rich, compelling, and sensitive love story that reflected on the power of human connection in a seemingly random universe. Students were able to recognise the ability that Stanislavski’s ‘given circumstances’ can bring to an actor’s performance on stage, allowing them to present a character with authentic emotion.

“The actors’ choices were represented through lighting and stage positioning. The constant resetting of scenes was astonishing to watch – just seeing how the smallest detail can lead to a completely different outcome in a scene. Furthermore, this technique allowed me to understand the characters and see how their love story unfolded multiple times, eventually seeing the climax of their relationship at the end of the performance. This excursion allowed me to see professional actors at a high level and exhibit many techniques that I can incorporate into my acting to develop it further”. (Jaiden Murphy – Year 10 Drama Student)

Drama and Theatre: Student of the Week – Bodhi Sepulohniam

Bodhi is an outstanding member of Kindergarten Preparatory Acting. He has been nominated for Redlands Drama and Theatre student of the week because of his commitment and attitude. He demonstrates fantastic teamwork and always tries his best. He already knows his lines for our end of year showcase and brings wonderful energy to each rehearsal. He is very excited to perform to an audience next term. Well done, Bodhi! (Amber Virtue – Drama Tutor)
