Staffing News

This week we welcomed our new Subject Coordinator for Secondary School Music, Ms Victoria Williams, who will be leading and managing the curriculum aspects of Music on the Senior Campus. Ms Williams is a highly experienced music educator with over 20 years of experience, supported by her Master of Music and Bachelor of Music. She will work in collaboration with the Music leadership team in supporting students with all Curriculum Music matters.

HICES Music Festival 2023

Some of our Yr 7-12 students had a wonderful time at HICES Music Festival. Running over four days and culminating in a spectacular performance at the Sydney Town Hall last night, our students certainly were worth watching – even if they did share the limelight with the Matildas! 

The students enjoyed meeting like-minded students from other Independent schools who share their passion, and working under the expert guidance of music educators from across the state. 

A big thank you goes out to Ms Nicole Roberts and Mr Mathew Owen, who accompanied our students and ensured their wellbeing throughout the camp. 

Next year, HICES will run a Yrs 5-8 Camp, as well as Jazz Academy and Male Vocals that will be open to students in senior years.

Junior Chamber Ensemble Performances

We would like to thank our Junior Chamber Ensembles who performed brilliantly for Open Day guests on Tuesday. Performing works from their Junior Music Festival repertoire, students impressed staff and guests and represented Redlands with pride. 

Prep Choir Enrolments

We have loved welcoming new students to Prep Choir this term. To ensure consistency as we now prepare for upcoming performances, enrolments for the ensemble will close at the end of Week 6. Please use the Cocurricular Enrolment form on Pulse to sign up prior to this cut-off date.

Music Awards Dinner

Tickets are selling fast! We are delighted to have our Friends of Music again hosting this annual event and we can’t wait to share the evening with our community. 

If your child is in the Cocurricular Music program from 7-12, book your dinner reservation (for them and yourself) using the link below, and join us at Norths Cammeray on Friday 25 August at 6pm for a 6.30pm start.

Redlands Album 2023

We are excited to share that the Redlands Album 2023 (not EP – too many outstanding tracks from our talented students!) will be launching on August 25 2023. Guests at the Awards Dinner will hear these varied and imaginative compositions as part of the night’s entertainment.

Composition Competition 2023 / Redlands EP 2024

‘Comp Comp’ is on and a chance for our singer-songwriters and composers to get their ideas together for submission!  Redlands’ 6th EP project is now open to receive entries via the iLearn page.
Submissions close on Friday 25 August 2023.
