Music Awards Dinner
The Music Awards Dinner is just one month away on Friday 25 August. Nominations have rolled in from tutors across all Senior cocurricular ensembles for Year Group awards in the areas of Service, Leadership, Dedication and Excellence to the Music Program throughout 2023. We are delighted that this beloved annual event has returned to our calendar, and we can’t wait to share the evening with you, our community. Our smaller ensembles are rehearsing up a fabulous program of dinner entertainment and our Friends of Music are looking forward to hosting this joyous night at the Norths Cammeray. Formal communications will be sent home shortly.
Tickets are $70 each and can be reserved via the link below.

HICES Music Festival 2023
We are excited for Redlands to return to HICES this year after a long hiatus! This outstanding musical collaboration between Independent Schools will culminate in a concert at Sydney Town Hall on Wednesday 16 August.
Vocal repertoire has now been shared to practice at home, and a reminder for all students involved to continue preparing and practicing their repertoire.

Composition Competition
The final competition in our annual series, Composition Competition a.k.a. Comp Comp is a fantastic catalyst for those budding singer-songwriters and composers to create! Redlands 6th EP project is now open to receive entries via the iLearn page. Adhering to the specified guidelines, composition submissions are to be uploaded by Friday 25 August 2023.

Junior and Senior Choirs Connect – Welcome to Country
It was delightful to see our Junior Voices travel over to the Senior Campus on Wednesday to perform and help teach Intermediate and Advanced Choir an Australian First Nations song – Wadawurrung – Thank You to Country by Deborah Cheetham Fraillon AO and Jessica Hitchcock. The students had a lovely time sharing their knowledge of the song and singing with the Senior Choir.

Junior Music Festival 2023
Overture, curtain lights! This is it, the night of nights! The excitement is building amongst students for the highly anticipated JMF performance, just one week away! Students are reminded to be familiar with the details in the parent letter and to check Google Classroom for the runsheet.
A reminder that weekly attendance for students in cocurricular ensembles is expected and any absences should be communicated to the Junior Music Office.

A big congratulations to our Year 12s who presented two incredible nights of musical excellence for friends and family on Monday and Tuesday. We are so excited to see them present this program for their final submissions and examinations!

Gala Arts
Last Friday we celebrated Gala Arts at the Concourse in Chatswood. There was incredible House Spirit and talent that the audience was able to witness and that the students can still feel the buzz from the evening moving into this week.
