OPERA HOUSE | Senior Jazz Performers 1

Congratulations to Senior Jazz Performers 1 who were given the incredible opportunity to perform on the Opera House stage this weekend, thank you for representing Redlands in Sydney Eisteddfod’s grandest event and a highlight in the NSW dance calendar. We do hope that you enjoyed the experience.

Dance Awards | Thursday 5 September

Save the Date for the Academy’s Dance Awards Dinner and Dance which is being held at North’s Cammeray on Thursday 5 September at 7pm.

All Performance groups will now be concentrating on new routines for the upcoming Dance Awards. Please understand that time is precious, so it is important that you attend all classes.

In fairness to your team, and to ensure that routines are completed and cleaned on schedule, you will only be cast in the sections of choreography that you are present for. The more classes you attend the more dancing in the routine you will do. (This is with the exception of Curriculum performances this week).

If you are unable to attend classes, please fill in the absentee form that you can find on the Ballet and Dance Pulse home page. Unexplained absences will hinder performances opportunities.

RAD EXAMS, CLASS AWARDS & MOCKS

Mocks

Compulsory mocks are being held over 3 days: Sunday 13 August, Wednesday 16 August & Sunday 20 August.

Parent Information Letters

Parent Information Letters were emailed on Thursday 20 July.

ABSENT or AWAY FROM CLASS

If your child is sick or will miss their class then please complete our ABSENTEE FORM.

Private Lessons: If your child cannot attend their scheduled private lesson, please contact their teacher direct to cancel. Please cc dance@redlands.nsw.edu.au and grevie@redlands.nsw.edu.au.

Please note that where less than 24 hours notice is given, private lessons will be charged as received.

Curriculum Dance Showcase | Year 12 HSC+IB – 27 July, Redlands Hall

Congratulations to our Year 12 students, Bronte Backhouse, Phoebe Barnett, Catarina Croll, Poppy Justice, Angus McLachlan, Jenna O’Reilly, Marli Prado, Josephine Simpson, Sebastian Tang, Alyssa Tinetti and Avalon Thomas on a wonderful showcase of their performance and composition works. Thank you to the students’ dancers who also performed. We wish the students all the best as they head into their final weeks of preparation before their exams.

Gala Arts

Last Friday we celebrated Gala Arts at the Concourse in Chatswood. There was incredible House Spirit and talent that the audience was able to witness and that the students can still feel the buzz from the evening moving into this week.
