Senior Music Festival
The Senior Music Festival Like a Variation was a stunning success this year and our Year 12 musicians were front and centre, hitting all the right notes, in a captivating program that included:
- Show-stopping solo performances by Hadley Wintle, Sabrina Blasco, Maya Little, Phoebe Barnett, Lily Kneale and Marcus Ogden
- Magnetic MCs / hosts for the evening: Maya Little, Sebastian Tang, Sabrina Blasco, Jack Lazzarotto, Jamison Houchell and Phoebe Barnett
- Commanding conducting by Lachlan and Jamison
- Some killer Year 12 solos in the larger ensembles, featuring Jacob, Joe, Jack, Oscar, Pat, Sabrina and Sahara
- Talented tap dancers Phoebe, Sebastian, Poppy and Aurora
- And how could we forget the variations, performed by: Maya, Sebastian, Elke, Poppy and Eve, Chirag, Jami, Lachlan, Sabrina, Maya, Phoebe, Lily K, Ash, Jack, Joe, Charlotte, Elena, Lily H (with sign antics provided by Oscar and Pat)… Plus great performances by Lucy B, Alana and Issy
- And, as always, the incredible and dependable Production crew of Oli, Alex Tully, Angus, Jamie G and Liam F
A huge congratulations to all students involved, to the entire Music Department and to the inimitable Mrs Richardson on her final show. To the Year 12 musicians – Bravo! You are so talented! What a hole you will leave in the Redlands Music program when you graduate, but we imagine we will be seeing many of you on bigger stages in years to come…
Yr 12 HSC Drama Evening
Congratulations to all the exceptional Yr 12 HSC Drama students who showcased their immense talent and dedication as part of the Individual Project at the HSC Drama Evening on Monday evening. The Individual Projects were truly captivating and evoked deep emotions, leaving the audience enthralled. Additionally, the Costume Design and Video Drama exhibited on the evening, were conceptual and reflected students’ boundless creativity.
In the Individual Peformance, HSC Drama students acted as characters or characters/roles, which hold different political, social, or moral values to themselves, or the School.
Year 12 HSC Drama students are to be commended for their efforts in bringing their artistic visions to life. The Individual Projects were a testament to the hard work, passion, and artistic prowess.

The Yr 12 Dance Troupes Excel at the Extreme Dance Competition
Congratulations to the Year 12 dancers who performed at the Extreme Dance Competition on Sunday.
Year 12 students, Avalon Thomas and Alyssa Tinetti performed in the Senior Contemporary Performance Group, and received 3rd place in the ‘High School Contemporary Troupe’ section out of 17 entrants. Well done girls!
Additionally, Avalon, Alyssa, Poppy Justice and Marli Prado performed in the Senior Jazz Performance Group 2 in the ‘High School Jazz Troupe’ section. Though the group didn’t place, the performance by the group was strong. Shoutout to Josie Simpson who, unfortunately, had to pull out of the group due to injury, but came along to support and cheer on the team.
Taylor Shines at the Australian Economics Olympiad
Congratulations to Taylor Riddell who has been announced as one of the five national winners in the Australian Economics Olympiad 2023! The level of competition this year was incredibly high, with economics students from all around Australia competing in the event, making this accomplishment even more remarkable.
As the national winner, Taylor is now invited to join the Australasian Economics Competition (AAEO), where she will compete with national Economics Olympiad winners from other countries. This exciting event promises to bring together exceptional talents from across the region who will be participating in a range of different activities, including a visit to the Reserve Bank of Australia. This unique experience will allow Taylor to showcase her skills on an international stage while fostering cross-cultural exchange and collaboration.

Theatresports Grand Final
Congratulations to Claudia Lalich and Phoebe Barnett who performed with the Redlands Senior Theartresports team at the Senior Theatresports Grand Final last weekend. They received scores of 5,4,5 for their performance of Broadway Musical which is an exceptional achievement. Well done Claudia and Phoebe!

Give Back Day and Yr 12 Formal
Tomorrow, Yr 12 will participate in the Yr 12 Give Back morning. In Period 1, Year 12 will have a presentation led by Rough Edges which will be based on a homeless person’s experience with homelessness in Sydney’s Kings Cross and how they turned their life around.
In Periods 3 and 4, Yr 12 will participate in a range of service activities including:
- Performances at the Bougainvillea Retirement Village
- French Speaking at the Neutral Bay Community Centre
- Assisting the Property and Maintenance team with maintenance around the Senior School,
- Activities with students at Redlands House, Prep and Junior School,
- Sorting donated clothing as part of the Year 12 Winter Woolies Appeal.
At the conclusion of the event at 12:30, HSC students can depart home to get ready for the Year 12 Formal, and at 12:50, IB students will be dismissed.
The Year 12 Formal at the Shangri-La will begin at 7 pm and is set to be a spectacular evening celebrating the Class of 2023!

Please join us at Gala Arts at the end of the first week of Term 3, an exceptional evening of entertainment where we celebrate the talents of our students, and book your tickets via the QR code in the following invitation.
This annual Creative and Performing Arts festival showcases the plethora of talents of the diverse Redlands student body from Year 7 to 12. The Festival was created to showcase the creative talents of Redlands students whilst at the same time promoting Inter-House competition and House spirit. Students perform in dance, instrumental, theatre and vocal categories. Visual Art photography work will be on display in the foyer and the winner will also be announced at the event.
