Building Blocks for Success – Parent and Student Information Evening

Next Thursday on 1 June, our Head of Secondary School, Ms Gemma Van de Peer and Dean of Studies, Ms Anna Rolon, will hold an information evening between 6pm and 7pm to provide an outline of expectations and future directions for the Yr 8 cohort. Valuable information about assessment, support and self-management skills will be addressed as part of the presentation. Parents and their students are expected to attend.

Student Focus – Yr 8 Dance

Over the weekend, Yr 8 dancers had some incredible achievements.

At the ‘IRBD Dance Competition’ on Saturday, Juliet Whelan, Belle Monty, Amelie Dewar, Liliana Halfen, Izzy Bannon, Lucy Goodsall, Charlotte Algar and Mia Cruttenden performed in the Senior Jazz Performance Group. George Dover supported them by watching them compete. They did very well with their routine, and made the academy very proud.

On Sunday, Juliet Whelan, Abbie Korbel, Amarlie Wilson and Evie Krallis competed at Space Dance Eisteddfod, where they received 1st place for their ballet group. They have been working really hard with this routine, so it was a really incredible achievement.

The Power of Practice

With reports and student-led conferences coming, quite often we get feedback about the need for more practice. While the nature of practice will look different on a subject-by-subject basis, the principal benefits are the same.
