Music
There is no greater joy than seeing students discover how Music can profoundly impact their lives for the better. Be it our earliest learners in Redlands House who can’t fake their sparkling eyes and beaming smiles – singing and dance with reckless joy; or our senior-most students as they bravely start to trust their musical instincts and share with others – finding immense reward in the risk taken, and being reassured that their voice, their sound is so very needed in the musical landscape.
It has been my great honour to serve the Redlands community over nearly seven years with countless Redlands students whose music has deeply moved and inspired me in that time. As Sean Corcoran has announced in his section of Note Day today, Term 3 will see a transition of leadership for our great department, and students within the Redlands Music program can be assured of the extraordinary team of world-class specialists we have at Redlands who are committed to seeing them reach their fullest potential, and finish their Redlands race strong. The Music Department’s dedication to our learners is as robust as ever to ensure that our students are positioned for ‘life readiness’ and indeed ‘industry readiness’. Let’s go Term 2!
Next term, as well as our Yr 12s bringing their performances and projects to completion standard, we are preparing for another magnificent SENIOR MUSIC FESTIVAL set to take place on Friday 16 June 2023. The Yr 12 Finale is always a spectacle, and our rehearsals kicked off with a hilarious bang last night! We can’t wait to see our graduating class in full flight on this night!
Wishing all our students and families well as we bring Term 1 to a happy end, in readiness for a soul-nourishing Easter break and a great Term 2 to come.
