IPSHA Cross Country Runners

Good luck to the following Redlands students who are competing at the IPSHA Cross Country Carnival this week at The Kings School at Parramatta. It is the toughest course that IPSHA have constructed in a long time and a unique opportunity for our runners to participate in this event against schools such as Pymble, St Catherines, MLC, Knox, Barker, Mosman Prep, Ascham, Trinity, Scots and many more.

Charlotte Roy , Reina Sabharwal, Rafael Mascheroni, Amelia Svensson, Kirrily Stone, Edward Grinham, Piper Aubin, Ella Liira, Kyler Simpson and Aidan Donnelly.

Compulsory Representative Winter Sport Trials

Well done to those students who were involved in our Winter Sport trials. They have completed 3 sessions (Yr 5 students have had 2 due to camp) and there is a final session next week on the 5 April. Team lists will be available for viewing online on the evening of the 5 April. Season commences Week 1, Term 2, Saturday 29 April.

Updated Sport Calendar

The updated sport calendar for Term 2 onwards  is available online on Junior School Sport Page. You can also view it by selecting here; 2023 JS Sport Calendar

Representative Sport Team Lists

To view Representative Sport team lists and Non Rep sport lists please select the TEAM LISTS quick link icon that can be found on the Junior School Sport pages on Pulse. Here you will see instructions on how to view your child’s sport through your Redlands App. Leading into Term 2, all Redlands Sport Activities will be through Pulse and the Redlands App.  Here you can see all activities, teams and groups your child is part of, all scheduled lessons and locations and receive instant push notifications for any changes or cancellations. There may be occasions where host schools change a time or location midweek and when this occurs the draw will be updated and you will receive an automatic notification from the Redlands App, same process will take place for Wet Weather.

Please remember that our Redlands Representative teams are fluid, meaning teams may change week to week depending on 3 main criteria: Ability, Attendance and Attitude. Any team movements will be discussed with your child by their coach. Given that we play in a graded competition against schools where most of the time have more teams than Redlands, we aim to provide the most competitive team for that round.

There may be times where your child is asked to also fill in on a second game when absences are high. Students are reminded to check their team lists on the APP each Thursday for any changes in preparation for their Saturday game.

Cross Country Carnival

The Cross Country Carnival which will now take place on Monday 8 May for all Junior School students. The carnival will be held at Tunks Park, Cammeray.

We will have full access to the entire Tunks Park fields and students will enjoy an open and flat running course. Each student will complete the course twice (two laps) to achieve 2.5km total distance.

Our aim is for this to be a fun experience for everyone on the day but also provide a great experience and challenge for those aiming to progress to HICES and CIS where the courses present many different challenges.

Upon arrival at the venues students in each grade will be divided into two groups (Boys Championship Race and a Girls Championship Race) which will run as separate events.

After the event the result will be sorted into age groups with the top 5 runners in boys and the top 5 runners in girls in each age group will make up the Redlands team that will participate at the HICES Carnival on the 23 May.

Please refer to our Cross-Country Carnival page on Pulse for all information relating to our 3rd major carnival this year.
