ICT in Transition Gold (TG)

This term, Transition Gold are visiting the media room on Tuesdays for lessons with eLearning specialist teacher, Ms Rugg. This week, the children were very excited and listened carefully when Ms Rugg explained that they would be taking robots “around the world” this term. In the coming weeks, the children will learn how to program Bee Bot robots using simple coding. They were introduced to directional coding using a floor grid and an iPad app so that they can begin practicing before programming the individual robots. Their first lesson finished with the exploration of Google Earth using ideas of travel destinations around the world. TG are counting down the days until next Tuesday’s lesson. A very big thank you to Ms Rugg for her inspirational ideas.

Junior Parent/Teacher Interviews

Parent/teacher interviews will be held for Redlands House Juniors between Monday 12 to Friday 16 November. Bookings will open at 9.00am on Monday 29 October.

Kindergarten and Transition Gold Orientation Day

On Wednesday 7 November students will be attending their Orientation Day for Kindergarten or Transition Gold 2019. The day will commence as normal with regular drop off at the Preschool, where Kindergarten staff will collect students and accompany them to the Prep area for the day. The teachers will tailor the day for the students, whereby they will be able to play in the playground, eat morning tea and lunch, and rotate amongst all four classes. This will enable staff to familiarise themselves with all children as they participate in the stimulating Kindergarten and Transition Gold environment. Students can be collected at the end of their day at the Preschool. Junior students who are attending the Orientation Day for Transition Gold 2019 and don’t normally attend Preschool on Wednesdays, are invited to be dropped off at 9am at the Prep School Reception and collected at 2pm from the same venue.  For further information about what to bring, please refer to the letter that was emailed last week.

2019 Kindergarten Information Session and Morning Tea

On Wednesday 7 November at 9.15-10.00am, there will be an Information Session and Morning Tea for all 2019 Kindergarten parents in the Arnold Library on the Junior Campus.

2019 Transition Gold Information Evening

On Wednesday 7 November from 5.00-6.00pm, there will be an Information Session for all 2019 Transition Gold parents in the Arnold Library on the Junior Campus.
