CanTeen Bandanna Day Friday 26 October
This year’s CanTeen Bandanna Day will be held on Friday 26 October, Week 2. Bandannas will be available for purchase throughout Week 2, Monday 22 to Friday 29 October for $5 at the front and back entrances before school, during recess and at lunch.
Bandannas can be worn to school on Friday 26 October to show your support and all funds raised will go to CanTeen, an Australian organisation for young people affected by cancer. CanTeen helps young people cope with cancer in their family. Through CanTeen, they learn to explore and deal with their feelings about cancer, connect with other young people in the same boat and – if they’ve been diagnosed themselves, CanTeen provide specialist youth-specific treatment teams.
Yr 7 Service Learning
This year has seen a few opportunities for Yr 7 students to reflect on the nature of Service, how we each can be of service within our community and especially how we can shape our community a make it the place we want to be part of and proud of. As Term 4 unfolds Yr 7 students will be further examining how we each can make a difference we will also be visited by Assistance Dogs Australia to learn about the role they play in the Australian community. As part of this visit we will be undertaking a range of fundraising activities to make a Redlands contribution to the long and expensive process of training puppies to become helpers. Look out for more information on our Yr 7 Houndraisers activities.
