A Christmas Message from the Chaplains
Surprises come in many forms and guises. From amazing to tragic to hilarious and rarely boring. The first Christmas contained many surprises, starting with the news from an angel Gabriel announcing the birth of Christ to an unsuspecting Mary. Perhaps the greatest surprise at Christmas is the declaration that God loves us. Remember the first words to Mary: ‘Greetings to you who are highly loved’. They may have been the most surprising words of all. May we all consider and give thanks for the ways God surprises us and gives us hope.
Considering God has given his gift to enjoy and share with others. One way we have been able to share the Spirit of that first Christmas is to be involved in caring for those in need through supporting Anglicare’s Toys ‘n’ Tucker and the Lismore Appeal. Many thanks to the generosity of the Redlands community. Donations will be gratefully received until Tuesday 6th December.
We have enjoyed precious opportunities to gather together and celebrate the love and joy of the Christmas story at the Junior and Secondary School Campus Carols events. Students were delighted to sing, dance, listen and laugh together and even Santa made a surprise visit!
It was fantastic to meet with the ‘Parents who Pray’ group this past week and to give thanks for the contribution of Mr Stephen Webber and to uphold the school in prayer. All parents are welcome to attend these twice termly gatherings in 2023. We wish everyone a blessed and peaceful Christmas season and look forward to supporting the spiritual life of our community throughout the coming year.
