End of Yr 10
It has been another incredible year and possibly the most eventful yet for this cohort. Students navigated Subject Selection for senior courses, fully engaged in the Pastoral Care Program on Healthy and Respectful Relationships, experienced Winter School, service initiatives and powered to the finish line with examination preparation. They had their first social gathering as a cohort with the Harbour Cruise, rose to the challenge on Yr 10 Camp and then stepped up into their senior courses. This cohort has truly come together to support one another through these exciting moments.
Recently, students participated in a Peer Support Leadership training day and applied for the position in Yr 11. It is one of many opportunities coming to this cohort as they become senior students. It was an overwhelming response where most of the cohort put their hand up for wanting to be a leader. This is a true testament to the passion, care, drive and motivation this year group has. While not everyone who applied will be able to be a Peer Support Leader next year, all senior students are leaders to their peers, younger students, their teachers, the executive, the community and to themselves. There is a real strength these teenagers have as a Yr 11 student and we know they will rise to the occasion.

Homeland Tour to Arnhem Land
Following on from a wonderfully successful Year 9 Camp, in partnership with Culture College, we will be offering a Homeland Tour to Arnhem Land on 15-22 April 2023, open to current Year 9 and 10 students.
In this cultural immersion, students will revisit and build on the ideas they were introduced to last year during the Culture College incursion, or this year during Year 9 Camp. After a brief stay at the Gulkula site students will travel to one of the Yolngu Homeland areas. This offers the opportunity for a much more personal, extensive and detailed exploration of Yolngu culture has been possible so far. It would suit students who are ready and willing to consider more deeply the knowledge they gained previously and how to effect change for the future.
The cost of the tour is $4,925. A proposed itinerary and booking form are available on Pulse (see News section). Bookings and payments should be made directly to Culture College, so please check their Terms and Conditions on the Booking Form.
Places are limited will be reserved upon payment of the deposit to Culture College. For more information, please view this recording of an Information Session held recently.
A recording of the session is available here.
