Congratulations to all Yr 8 Drama students on their highly anticipated and successful performance evening. What an exhilarating evening it was on Monday and Tuesday. Students performed a variety of Australian scenes from iconic Australian plays. Below are some images from the performance evening.
The Addams Family Company Announcement
Yesterday we had our first company meeting for the 2023 musical, The Addams Family. Below is an overview of the key messages provided to students
- Full company vocal rehearsals (principals, dance ensemble and cast) will start on Friday Week 4 from 3:30 pm-4:30 pm. Rehearsals will be in the Music Hub
- Principal vocal rehearsals will start on Wednesday in Week 4 during lunch. These will occur in RH21A
- Orchestra rehearsals have already begun and will continue to occur every Friday from 3:30 pm-5:00 pm
- Musical backings tracks for Act 1 will be available by the end of week 4 and Act 2 by the end of term
- Dance ensemble rehearsals will start in 2023
- Sunday rehearsals will start in 2023
- Students must come and collect librettos from the drama office by the end of next week
- All communication to The Addams Family Company will be communicated via iLearn and Pulse. Please sign up for the Drama and Theatre Pulse page.
- Production and hair and make-up crew will be determined in 2023. Students interested in hair and make-up should express their interest via email to drama@redlands.nsw.edu.au by the end of the term.
- These rehearsals will only be for students in 7-12 2022 currently in Redlands Secondary School
The Addams Family Musical Audition – Calling All Drummers!
If you are a drummer, we need you! We are seeking a drummer for The Addams Family Musical 2023 as part of the Pit Orchestra. Drummers applying should be able to read notation and have experience playing and performing in an ensemble. Successful applicants will also need to be available for rehearsals and performances as outlined on the Musical Rehearsal Schedule will be sent out to students who register their interest.
To sign up for an audition, please email Mr Owen by Thursday 10 November. Auditions will be held on Monday 14 November during lunch in MH1.

Friends of Drama AGM
As a drama and theatre community, we value the relationships we have with each other. On Monday 7 November at 5:00 pm in LH2.3, we will be holding the Drama and Theatre Annual General Meeting to support the various activities undertaken by the department across the school calendar. At this event, we will discuss the rule and responsibilities of the Head of Friends of group and elect the Executive Members for 2023. We hope to strengthen and grow the team and hope to see you all there.

Photos for extracurricular Drama and Theatre subjects such as Acting, Musical Theatre and Film will occur on Monday 14 November. They will be collected from their classroom by their Drama and Theatre Tutor. These photos will be able to be purchased later in the term. Information about this will come out in the lead-up to the event. Please make sure your child is wearing Full School Summer Uniform.
Soiree
All parents and carers should have received communication regarding the upcoming Soiree performance program for 2022. If you did not receive this information, please check Pulse or contact drama@redlands.nsw.edu.au
Enrolments
In 2023 the Drama and Theatre program will transition to Clipboard. Shifting to this platform means enrolments will not roll over in 2023. Information regarding this process will be released in the upcoming weeks and all parents and students will no longer need to unenroll their students via email. Please sign up on the Pulse Drama and Theatre page for updated information.
