Jump Rope for Heart
Congratulations to all students who have been grabbing a rope and skipping before school, at recess and at lunchtime. It’s great to see so many people being active and keeping their heart healthy. A special congratulations to those students who have also helped to fundraise for the Heart Foundation.
We now have a permanent home for our skipping ropes. You will find them on the brick wall near the basketball hoops. We welcome skippers anytime!
This week’s challenge from Ms Longworth is for everyone:
How many skips can you do in 1 minute?
Count your skips and record your score near the friendship bench.
Mums and Dads please come in and count your skips at drop off!!
Book Week Next Week!
The excitement is building for the 2022 Book Week next week. There has been lots of discussion around what we all want to be and who we admire! If you are still undecided, please pop in to see Mrs Roberts or swing by our Prep Reception to get some ideas.
Kate Simpson, the author we were having next Monday to kick off Book Week sadly is unwell; therefore, we are rescheduling her visit to Redlands. Her visit will now take place on Tuesday 30th for our prep students.
Grandparents and Special Friends Day
The long-awaited return of Grandparents & Special Friends Day takes place on Friday 26 August and we ae looking forward to this event. Key points of information are below for note:
- Please RSVP HERE
- Prep and Redlands House guests should arrive at 9am to Prep School Reception, where they will be guided towards the oval for the parade.
- For guests who will be here for both Prep and Junior Campus visits, a morning tea has been organised to keep up the energy levels needed!
- We ask that only grandparents or special friends attend as there have been, and will be, opportunities for parents to come in at different times as we return to normal events and occasions. We are also mindful of keeping the numbers on campus and in classrooms as limited as possible.
- Guests are encouraged to wear a mask.

Term 4 After School Sports Program Registration Update
Thank you for your feedback as we move to adjusting our systems to accommodate a fairer and time friendly registration process for our after-school sports program.
As part of our new upgraded parent digital experience, Term 4 Prep After-School Sport will move to our new Sports and Activities platform via the Redlands Pulse page.
This also means the way families select their preferences will change.
Please note the following:
- Prep After-School Sport Expressions of Interest will open 10am Wednesday 24 August and close 10am Wednesday 31 August.
- There will be a two-preference option. Please do not opt for the same sport twice as the system will not respond to that.
- The term 4 sports on offer are football (On Monday only), basketball and tennis.
- Parents can access the form online using their new Redlands parent login here
- This form is an expression of interest and is not first come, first served. Allocations will be prioritised for students who have not yet had a chance to participate in an after-school sport program this year.
- You will receive an email confirming your child’s place by Monday 5 September.
The below screen shots should help you navigate the process. The above link will take you directly to the page below. Students are attached to the parent shown at the top of the page. As a parent, please select which child they want to select for.
A Few Messages
Our lunchtime wellbeing activities are going well and our student leaders are doing an incredible job of leading most of them. Just a reminder that Pokémon Cards are only permitted on Mondays for Years 1 and 2 children who intend to go to the lunch time activity, cards are only permitted inside the classroom.
If your child attends after school sport on a Monday or Friday, please read the behaviour expectation guide that our providers use. This helps provide us with a structure that ensures the safety and wellbeing of all students who attend. It is important that all students, whether they are in Redlands House, K ,1, and Year 2 understand that the sport session needs to be a safe space for everyone as well as a place where the school value of respectful relationships is demonstrated. If you do receive a message about an incident, we do encourage you to please come and talk to the coaches at pick up time.
