Year 7

Jeans for Genes Fundraising

Last Friday, in recognition of Jeans for Genes Day, 7 McDouall Blue organised a bake sale with students from 6Y in the Junior School. Our Yr 7 students also assisted with the sausage sizzle, preparing food and selling sausages. Collectively, these students raised $1280.50, making Redlands the highest School Fundraiser this year. It was wonderful to see our students commit to this cause with such enthusiasm.

Friends of Music Event

The Music Awards Dinner will be held on August 2 2022, at Manly Golf Club. This event is for all students and their parents involved in co-curricular music ensembles, choirs and bands. It will be a celebration of hard work and a chance to listen to ensemble performances while enjoying a two course dinner.  As an acknowledgement of their contribution, all Y7’s will be presented with a Certificate of Achievement.

Tickets can be booked using the link below before August 19 2022. ServiceNSW Parents $50 Entertainment vouchers can be used when booking a student ticket.

Public Speaking Program

Ms Vyvian Kang is launching a Public Speaking Program which is open to students in Yrs 7-10. I have encouraged Yr7 students to express their interest in the program, as public speaking is a skill that will serve students well for their whole life, no matter the career path they take. It helps to build confidence, persuasive speaking skills and raise awareness of global issues. Students in the program will also have the opportunity to participate in various competitions.

If your son or daughter wishes to express their interest, there is a form on our Yr 7 Pastoral iLearn Page.
