Year 11

Student Achievement

Special mention to Julia Murphy, Dan Close, Hadley Wintle, Marli Prado and Momo Elsworth who competed at the NSW Japanese Speech Contest via Zoom last weekend.

The aims of the contest were to encourage learners who are studying Japanese to showcase their language skills in a challenging context and to advocate Japanese language learning in general.

Momo finished in 1st place and Marli finished in 2nd place which is a tremendous result!

Thank you to Abe Sensei and Okawa Sensei for all their assistance and support of the students on the day of the competition.

Week 4 Year Assembly

Well done to the following Yr 11 student speakers who presented at Wednesday’s Year Assembly:

  • Lily Hobbs – Camp Song Update

Our Career Advisers, Justine Fowler and Clare Hurst also spoke about an exciting Alumni Careers-based presentation coming up later this term. More information to come soon.

Yr 12 2023 Leadership Update

On Tuesday, voting closed for the 2023 Yr 12 leaders. The next stage in the leadership process will be the interview process where a selected group of Yr 11 students will be asked to interview for the key leadership positions which include School, Arts, Service and House Captain positions. Not all candidates who have applied for a Yr 12 Leadership position will be selected for an interview; however, the time and effort taken for Yr 11 to complete applications is noted and appreciated. Best of luck to all the Yr 11 students in the next stage of the leadership process.

HSC Year 11 Performance Art

Yr 11 students engaged in a kinetic drawing to music, using their whole bodies as part of the Preliminary HSC Experimental Drawing Unit. The hazmat suits were protecting their uniform from drawing materials! This was a fun, mindful and creative experience for all Yr 11 Art students involved.

Thank you to Ms. Sarah Matthews for sharing the photos of Yr 11 engaged in their kinetic drawing!
