I trust you will have received my letter regarding the development of a new Three Campus Master Plan for the School and our engagement with EPM, one of Australia’s premier construction project management firms. The comprehensive Community Consultation process includes our students, staff, parents and carers and other key stakeholders. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to join various groups of students from the Junior and Secondary Schools in a series of recent workshops, during which they clearly articulated the types of facilities that best support their learning and enable them to thrive, with a view to future development priorities across the School. Students have also had the opportunity to provide feedback via a survey, along with a staff survey and workshop. We look forward to receiving your important input into the process early next term.

I enjoyed the opportunity to speak at the Preparatory, Junior and Secondary School assemblies this week, to thank our teachers and support staff for their dedication, care and commitment to the students. I asked the younger students to reflect on one word that would describe their teachers and through a roving microphone, shared a number of the responses. It was moving to hear so many positive words such as: kind, caring, humorous, compassionate, inspiring, smart, super-awesome and even one fashionista.

My thanks to all students and staff who were involved in creating such a memorable Senior Music Festival last Friday evening. The standard of music was exceptional and it was clear that the students thoroughly enjoyed performing and leading proceedings. Other Music treats today were the Junior Choral Celebration Concert and a very special Junior Campus performance of a Torres Strait Islander song to celebrate NAIDOC week.

We were blessed with a stunning day for the Secondary School Athletics Carnival this week and it was fantastic to see so many students competing, led by our Year 12 cohort, who are looking forward to finishing the term on a high, with their Year 12 Formal on Friday evening.

This term has been full of wonderful events and there is much to be thankful for and to celebrate in the life of the School. I thank all members of the school community for your ongoing support and wish you and your families a relaxing and reinvigorating school holiday period.
