Year 7
School Holidays
It is hard to believe that students are halfway through their first year of Secondary Schooling. For those families travelling these school holidays we wish you a safe and happy holiday, and for those families having some “at home time” we wish you a restful and happy break.
The Senior Vocal Competition
The Senior Vocal Competition was held on 10 June in the Edwards Auditorium and was judged by our celebrity judge Meg Mac. Congratulations to our Yr 7 participants: Daniel Gordon, Jessica Jackson, Tara Ward, Sahara Nicholas and Isabella Solgaard.
- Division 1 Winner Sahara Nicholas
- Division 1 Runner Up Isabella Solgaard
A marvellous achievement by Sahara and Isabella.
Senior Athletics Carnival
On Tuesday, Yr 7 participated in the 2022 Senior Athletics Carnival at Sydney Olympic Park. It was pleasing to see so many Yr 7 students step up and compete at their first Senior Athletics Carnival. Participation was incredibly high and not just on the track but in the field events too. As the sun shone, the stands were electric with House spirit. Yr 7 not only dressed the part but also cheered on their House peers throughout the day. Yr 7 should be very proud of their efforts and how they conducted themselves at the carnival.
Congratulations to the following Yr7 Age Champions:
U12 Girls Age Champion – Charlotte Algar
U12 Girls Age Champion Runner Up – Milla McKim
U12 Boys Age Champion – Nick Meagher
U12 Boys Age Champion Runner Up – Finn Gurney
U13 Girls Age Champion – Liliana Halfen
U13 Girls Age Champion Runners Up – Ava Atkinson & Amelie Dewar
U13 Boys Age Champion – Daniel Benoliel
Da Vinci Decathlon
During our Year Assembly this week, we recognised the Yr 7 Da Vinci Team: Abby Stante, Sam Ashby, Charlie Reeves, Elodie Melvin, Liliana Halfen, Sophia Liu and Samuel Turton. These students were awarded da Vinci certificates for 3rd place in the Cartography section. A wonderful achievement. Thank you to our Tutors Ms Elizabeth Keogh and Ms Rachel Wilson for the support of our Yr 7 students throughout the competition.
Farewell to Ms Sandra Reidenbach
Yesterday, during our Yr 7 Assembly we farewelled 7 Dumolo Red’s Tutor Ms Sandra Reidenbach. Melissa Franco and Maritsa Radich spoke on behalf the Year Group, thanking Ms Reidenbach for her support and care over the course of the semester. Amelie Beeton and Charli Amm made a card which had been signed by the students of 7DR. It was heartening to see the students recognise Ms Reidenbach’s contribution and hear in their own words the impact she has had and how she helped to facilitate their transition into Secondary School. We wish Ms Reidenbach every success in her new endeavours.
