Snowsports
Last week, Snowsports Nationals were held at Perisher. Notable mention goes to Ethan McFarlane and his team for placing 1st in Div 2 Moguls and Sienna Wessels and her team for placing 3rd in Div 3 Snowboard X. Well done to all Yr 7 competitors.
Yr 7 Examinations
Yr 7 Examinations start in Week 3 Term 4. To avoid stress later, now is a great time for students to start their preparation.This week, students are revisiting skills of summarising and active studying. As students develop new skills in personal study, they may need additional support at home and we thank you for your assistance with supporting the development of these key skills. Athletics
Redlands Track and Field have been busy this past week with two Invitational Athletics Meets. On Friday 31 August, Redlands competed for the first time in the Athletics NSW Nitro Schools Challenge at Sydney Olympic Park. The Nitro Schools Series required Junior, Intermediate and Senior school teams from across NSW to compete against each other and earn points for their team in this unique nationwide competition. Teams competed in a variety of unique events ranging from the 2 x 300m relay, 1000m, 60m, Medley Relay (200, 200, 400, 800) to field events such as Long Jump, High Jump and Shotput. Lachlan Binnekamp, Sam Chubb, Thomas Gratez (pictured and achieved a PB) and Maia Healey represented Yr 7.
On Saturday 1 September, Redlands competed in the GPS Invitational carnival at ES Marks Athletics Track. Redlands had a good turnout with many of the athletes using the invitational to improve their track and field events and to get used to the competition environment. Emelie Bessell, Lachlan Binnekamp (achieved a PB of 2.33 in the 800m 13 Years Boys), Nui Currie, Sebastien Griffith, Maia Healey, Joshua Hicks, Claudia Larsen, Charlotte Morrison, Keian Murphy, Oliver Noakes, James Pocknee and Charlotte Scamps represented Yr 7.
Redlands Spring Fair
The Redlands Spring Fair is this Saturday 15 September from 9am – 3pm. The Fair will be held on our Junior Campus. It is sure to be a wonderful community day with fantastic food, rides, games, markets, prizes and student performances and we look forward to seeing our Yr 7 families on the day. Sorry, no dogs are permitted at the Spring Fair.
Important Student Health and Safety Notice: Spring Fair
Parents are advised that there will be First Aid provided at the Spring Fair this coming Saturday, but our First Aid provider will not have access to medication or medical equipment held by the School for student use.
Therefore, it is essential that any student who requires an Epipen or any other medication brings this with them on the day.
