Drama and Theatre

Drama and Theatre

Last week I was able to sit in on the mini-auditions for the Yr 5 and 6 Junior Music Theatre class. All the students were fantastic and it reminded me of the strength and power of Theatre and Drama education.

Theatre and Drama education offers a Utopia pedagogy that allows participants to see the current clearly and at the same time start to imagine a new version of reality, or at least begin to recognise that change is possible. It is an experience we should all have and implore anyone to join up to the many programs and offerings Redlands has available.

Gala Arts

Students are busily preparing and rehearsing for Gala Arts which will be on Friday 22 July. Tickets are now available via the Concourse website. Click the link below to buy tickets now.

Submissions for the Gala Arts Photography are still open. All the information is below and can be found on iLearn. Please email drama@redlands.nsw.edu to be added to the page for the submission.

Extra-subject Drama and Theatre

Classes are going well. If you want to enrol your child please contact drama@redlands.nsw.edu.au. Some classes are at capacity and have a waitlist.

A few reminders below:

The Extra Subject Drama and Theatre Program automatically renews at the end of Semester 1. Parents do not need to contact the Drama office unless they wish to change their enrolment. Billing takes place prior to the commencement of Semester 2. Four weeks’ written notice to drama@redlands.nsw.edu.au is required if you wish to withdraw from the program.

Please communicate with your child about their extra-curricular classes in the morning. We have had cases where students are in the car line or their designated pick-up spot and have needed to be located before class starts. Please ensure any absences are sent to drama@redlands.nsw.edu or your child’s class tutor prior to the lesson.
