RPFA
Attendees at last week’s Science and Innovation Luncheon were treated to inspiring stories from four alumni including Dr Sue Morey AM, as well the lovely food and ambiance at the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron. Over $40,000 was raised for the Dr Sue Morey AM means-tested Scholarship. Thank you everyone for your generosity!
Our next event will be the highly anticipated Spring Fair on Saturday 3 September.
Collections
(Almost) final call for Light for Lismore
Collections of stationery and craft supplies will continue for one more week until Fri 3 Jun. Thank you to everyone who has already donated items. Through this collection, we are helping to support 170 registered educators and around 2,000 children per week. Without these educators, there is no care for these children, while their parents work and try to rebuild their lives after losing everything.
Our Prep and Junior School children are decorating boxes for each of the educators and writing letters of hope to their peers in Lismore. Let’s help to fill up these boxes with as many requested items as possible. Craft supplies such as scissors, dough kits, palettes, beads, pom poms, tissue paper and string are especially needed in addition to any of the items on the list below (click image to enlarge). Please donate items in Redlands House and Prep receptions areas and Junior School classrooms.
Worn Up Uniform Recycling
As part of our sustainability efforts, Redlands has partnered with Worn Up with the aim of diverting old school uniforms from landfill to be upcycled into new products. The RPFA will be collecting old Redlands branded uniforms that are not suitable for the second hand uniform sale from Wed 1 Jun to Wed 8 Jun, with collection bins located in the Prep, Junior and Secondary School receptions. Please do not send in current uniforms in good condition, which can be donated in Term 3, or non-Redlands branded items, as the RPFA has limited storage space and volunteers to sort through the items.
