Drama and Theatre

Drama and Theatre

It is not enough to demand insight and informative images of reality from the theatre. Our theatre must stimulate a desire for understanding, a delight in changing reality.’ Bertold Brecht

This has never been more true with Year 9 Curriculum Drama shining bright On Monday and Tuesday Night, participating in their first live performance evening since COVID-19. Students have been working tirelessly to devise an original, self-devised work in the style of Documentary Drama. Students explored various historic or current issues and events they are passionate about and incorporate the conventions of Epic Theatre, which seeks to establish a non-realistic performance style whilst exploring multiple perspectives on these issues. Performance images will be in Note Day next week.

Gala Arts

The performance audition submissions are now closed for Gala Arts with finalists being announced on Friday 27 May. Excitingly, we are now opening submissions for the Gala Arts Photography section. All the information is below and can be found on iLearn. Please email drama@redlands.nsw.edu to be added to the page for the submission.

Senior Curriculum Performance Evenings

In the upcoming weeks, we have an array of senior curriculum performance evenings, showcasing their classwork over the semester. We encourage friends and family to attend to support all students involved. Please see the information below for these evenings.
