2022 Gymnastics Open Day – Competitive Gym Boys and Girls- Final reminder

In exciting news we can confirm that IPSHA Gym will be up and running their carnival this year. At this carnival Schools are invited to send through a school gymnastics team in a variety of disciplines. For 2022 Redlands Junior School are going to be involved in this carnival after a 2-year COVID break and would like to train up and send a team of boys and girls to compete at this one-off carnival held in August.

Similar to our Athletics and Cross Cross Country Carnivals, we will provide training for this Gymnastics Carnival and these sessions will take place after hours in and around your child’s current Non-Rep and or Rep Sport with no clashes. As you would be aware we have a new contractor, Aussie Gems Gymnastics, who are running our recreational program (Wednesday Sport) as well as coming on board for this new representative gym program (IPSHA Gym).

On Saturday 21 May from 12:00pm- 1:30pm Aussie Gems are opening their facility for Redlands students and their parents who may be interested in giving IPSHA Gym a go this year to come and watch some demonstrations, give some of the equipment a go and see if they want to pursue it as a sport.

Snowsport

As we begin to prepare for the upcoming season Redlands has been involved in competitive Snowsports for many years and has won numerous awards at the national level for individual events and as a school. We are committed to prepare our students to ride and ski safely and competently to enjoy this wonderful lifelong family sport. To race, students need to confidently ski or snowboard on all blue runs.

The program commences with the start of the winter school holiday and if your children are keen to compete, they can enter the Redlands Cup followed by the Sydney Interschools Championships. Children can compete in a wide variety of ski and snowboard events with Redlands offering specialist training (Y1-12) for participants.

These events will take place from July 8 2022.For more information on how Junior School students can become involved in the Snowsports program please read the booklet on the following link.
