Head of Preparatory School
It was a joy to start the week by welcoming parents on campus for a Mother’s Day Celebration and to welcome everyone into Redlands House and Prep classrooms where parents played, created, read, and were pampered in the massage chairs! A morning highlight was listening to the Prep students singing their special Mother’s Day song to a captivated audience. The buzz of having a significant number of parents and students together was palpable. Returning to community events such as this one continues to connect and move us forward in every sense.
Parents Back On Campus!
We are pleased to welcome parents back on campus for morning drop off and afternoon pick up. To help create an environment that is comfortable and safe for everyone, we ask you to respect the following guidelines:
Morning drop off
- Prep Reception door and car line will continue to open at 8am
- When walking children inside the campus, we ask parents to continue to encourage independence. Your child should be carrying their bag and continue to unpack their belongings.
- As time before school is precious preparation time for teachers, parents are encouraged to make interview times at other times for specific information sharing.
- Once your child is dropped off and/or the bell has rung, parents are asked to leave the campus promptly please.
Afternoon pick up
- Staggered car line times will remain the same.
- If you are picking up inside the campus, we ask that you do not linger after collecting your child and leave by 3.30pm at the latest the oval and Piazza areas are often used by other sections of the School.
- Please be aware of new signage around our play equipment that states that students are not to use the play equipment without a staff member present. Please assist us in ensuring students are not playing on the play equipment at this time.
- To ensure the safety of our students and community, dogs are not permitted inside the campus or should they be left unattended and tied up near the entrances to the school.
- Please continue to use the Student Diary to inform the teacher of how and who will be picking them up each day.
Kindergarten on campus pick up
Kindergarten will meet any parents picking them up on campus at 2.45pm at the kindergarten steps (steps between the equipment). Parents are asked not to wait outside the classrooms.
Yr 1 on campus pick up
Students can be picked up at 3pm from the Year 1 meeting area which is outside the canteen door.
Yr 2 on campus pick up
Students can be picked up at 3.10pm. Parents are asked to wait at the Year 2 meeting area, on the piazza concrete seats.
Parents with older children in Junior school can wait in these designated areas until Junior School finishes at 3.20pm. We hope that this might help to alleviate traffic congestion around our campus at pick up time.
For after school activities please take note of the following pick-up areas:
- Football-Murdoch Street gate (no change)
- Basketball and Gymnastics – Allister St, Dunnet Hall Door (no change)
- Tennis – Allister St court gate (no change)
- Musical Theatre/Drama – Please wait on Allister St at Prep Reception door (no change)
- Dance – Seats outside of Parkes building near Murdoch St
- OSH – Current pick up through Junior School Reception remains the same
Lunchtime Fun
Please read the table below outlining the current and upcoming lunchtime and after school activities that are now available for our K-2 students. Our chess and Tech Tuesday Club will be capped at a number due to resourcing. More information will follow for these activities. We will be discussing these opportunities with the students during Prep Assembly time throughout the rest of the term. We think that our students will enjoy the additional activities that on offer for them during the day.

Light Up Lismore
Collection boxes can now be found in the car line drop off zone and in Prep Reception. Thank you to those families who have already donated. Our thoughts are with the Northern Rivers community as the rain falls yet again across their region.
