Netball
As the Netball season draws to the business end of the season for the NSNA teams, we are continuing to train and play to the best of our ability. We are happy to announce that all five Semi Final teams are playing in the Grand Finals this Saturday at Willoughby. The Yr 7 teams will all play at 8.00am with the Yr 8 and 9 teams both playing at 10.00am.
Last weekend the 7 Blue team had a sensational game and had a close fight on their hands against Monte. Monte took a solid lead going into the 4th quarter of 13 – 9. Redlands took to the court with a solid game plan in mind and stopped Monte scoring any goals in the 4th quarter and took out a win with a score of 16 – 13 solidifying their spot in the Grand Final.
The 7 Gold team didn’t want to take any chances last weekend against Loreto and they dominated the play from start to finish. With some solid passing, front drives and our shooters being on point, Redlands were never in doubt of making it through to the Grand Final. They finished their game with a very solid win of 22-14 and will now face Monte in the Grand Final.
The 9 Navy team have played in a very competitive competition all season. They fronted up to a well drilled Sydney Girls High School team who had beaten us twice previously and were determined to make their mark on this competition despite finishing in 3rd place after the round games. They played their best game of their season and dominated the game, winning 35 – 25 and will play MCC in the Grand Final.
The 7 Gold team and the 8 Blue team had a solid training session last weekend in preparation for their Grand Finals this weekend. Good luck to all teams.
A reminder that the Netball Presentation Dinner will be held on Thursday 13 September at the Norths Leagues Club (6.00pm start). This evening is to celebrate the Netball season for both the ISA and NSNA competitions. Tickets are $55 per person (children under 11 are $25).
