Year 11
Day of Hope
On Tuesday, Yr 11 participated in the empowering Day of Hope, presented by former Young Australian of the Year and popular High School Speaker Glen Gerreyn. Some of the key takeaways for Yr 11 included the following:
- Stop comparing yourself against others.
- Spend more time creating than comparing.
- Self Awareness manifests self-management.
- If you believe in your dreams, your craft and yourself, your parents will believe in your dreams too. If you’re not devoted – get another dream.
- Live life as if everything is rigged in your favour.
- You are more than enough.
- Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.
- Don’t let success get to your head or failure get to your heart.
On Friday during Tutor Time, Yr 11 will be creating vision boards that will assist them with clarifying, concentrating and maintaining focus on specific goals throughout their senior years of study and into the future.

Redlands Yr 11 HSC Visual Arts exhibition.
Well done to all the Yr 11 HSC Visual Arts students for completing their Visual Arts Body of Work. All works have been carefully displayed in the gallery on Level 1 of the Learning Hub. The theme of the Collection of Works is “Extraordinary in the ordinary” where students had to base their works on the beauty in the every day. Each student’s body of work had to include photography, supported with a medium of their choice. All the works are all conceptually impressive.
ISA XC Trials – Friday 6 May
A reminder to all Yr 11 students that the ISA XC Trials are taking place tomorrow morning at 6.30am at Balmoral Oval. Students will need to make their own way to Balmoral and a bus will drop students back to the Secondary School after the trial. Students will need to bring their full school uniform to get changed into before period 1. Best of luck to all the Yr 11s who have signed up to compete in the trial.
