Round 1 Winter Sport

Unfortunately, the beautiful warm conditions we experienced on Friday were not enough to dry out the grounds of schools and councils in time for round 1 and as such we only managed to get a handful of games in. Those teams that did play were excited to put into play everything they have learned over the trials and training sessions at the end of last term. Notable performers, as nominated by the coaches for Round and 1 and 2 will be read out at assembly and will receive their certificate from the Sport department later this week. Congratulations to our Yr 6 Football teams who started off their season with some great Football at home on Saturday. Our youngest teams in Year 3 Football and Netball also got to play and with a 7-0 win to the 3A Football and a 3-3 draw to the Netball before it got called off due to wet weather.

2022 Gymnastics Open Day – Competitive Gym Boys and Girls

In exciting news we can confirm that IPSHA Gym will be up and running their carnival this year. At this Carnival, schools are invited to send through a school Gymnastics team in a variety of disciplines. For 2022 Redlands Junior School are going to be involved in this Carnival after a two year COVID break and would like to train up and send a team of boys and girls to compete at this one off Carnival held in August.

Similar to our Athletics and Cross Cross Country Carnival, we will provide training for this Gymnastics Carnival and these sessions will take place in and around your child’s current Non Rep and or Rep Sport with no clashes. As you would be aware we have a new contractor, Aussie Gems Gymnastics who are running our recreational program (Wednesday Sport) as well as coming on board for this new representative Gym program (IPSHA Gym).

Open Day – Come and see what it is all about

On Saturday 21 May from 12:00pm- 1:30pm Aussie Gems are opening their facility for Redlands students and their parents who may be interested in giving IPSHA Gym a go this year to come and watch some demonstrations, give some of the equipment a go and see if they want to pursue it as a sport.
