Year 9

Welcome back to the start of a new term. I hope that all families had a lovely Easter break spent with family and friends. We also warmly welcome a new student to our cohort, Aibe Elsworth, and her parents, David and Sachiko.

It is also with great pleasure that we also welcome a new Tutor to McDouall Blue to our pastoral team, Ms Caroline Brehaut, who will be replacing Charlotte Putman whilst on maternity leave. Caroline joins Redlands as a Latin teacher and has over 12 years teaching experience, most recently working at Kambala as a SS Latin Teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Ancient History, a Diploma in Language Studies majoring in Latin and completed her Masters of Philosophy in Greek & Roman History and Latin at Oxford.

Student news

Yumeto Lee plays for Ryde Hawks Black Baseball team. This is a team of all-stars from the Ryde Hawks Junior League Division. During the holidays, Yumeto participated in the NSW Junior League State Baseball Championships. His team were successful in making the grand final and securing 1 of 2 spots to represent NSW at the National Championships in May/June. Yumeto had been training 4-5 times a week in the preceding two months despite the heavy rain and sustaining a broken nose. We look forward to hearing how Yumeto and his team perform at the National Championships. Congratulations on this extraordinary achievement!
