Drought Relief Fundraiser
Congratulations to the Yr 11 students who organised and contributed to a very successful Sausage Sizzle and Cake Stall last Thursday. They raised almost $1400. There was a beautiful spread of cakes and slices and lots of willing helpers on the day. Some of the Yr 11 students also took time to visit all Year Groups to help inform the student body about the drought and its implications. It was great to see them making important links to their academic studies in Geography, Environmental Science and Economics as part of these presentations.
Volunteers for Spring Fair – 15 September
The Spring Fair is always a fun day out. Student volunteers are sought from Yrs 9 – 11 to help out on the day. There are already three stalls being run by Yr 11 teams but other students are encouraged to volunteer some time to support the school community. Sign up here.
Fiji Service Learning Trip
A group of Yr 9 students are now in the final weeks of preparing for their trip to Fiji in the coming holidays. These students have been completing journal reflections as they prepare for the trip. They will be visiting a highland community, staying with local families and doing some project work. This is a great opportunity for cultural exchange and learning. Students have been fundraising for this project by doing odd jobs for family and friends. In addition, they will also be spending some time on the coast and learning about the environmental impacts of tourism and climate change on these communities, applying some of their Science and Geography knowledge.
