Student Achievements
HICES
“HICES was amazing. It was a really great experience to be playing music with other people my age who loved it as much as I did. The opportunity to learn new pieces under the direction of such wonderful instructors, musicians and teachers was an amazing opportunity. The facilities provided by the HICES campus allowed my stay to be comfortable and a wonderful learning experience. The final concert at the Town Hall was an incredible experience. I look forward to trying out again next year!” Eden Borrie
NSW Snowsports Interschools
“NSW Interschools was an amazing experience where we got to become better at the sport and meet people who enjoy the sport as much as I do. It was also a great experience to become closer with my own team and learn new tips from them. When we were racing it was also great to come to the finish and know that your teammates were at the bottom ready to cheer you on”. Ben Harrington
Netball
“Our Netball season was a huge success this year. We were all dedicated and committed to weekly training and games and all put in the time and effort. It was amazing to play with people who loved the sport as much as me and wanted to learn and improve. We all put in an incredible amount of effort for our Grand Final, with the finishing score being 41-27. I have loved my experience of Netball this year and hope that everyone in my team goes for the Summer Netball Program at the Willoughby Club”. Jemma Davies
Athletics
“Rex Brook, Shaun Patrick and Sasha Jansz competed in the first Invitational Athletics Carnival hosted by St Aloysius at Sydney Olympic Park last Saturday. Rex Brook ran a quick time of 11:08 in the Opens 3000m and is hoping to improve next Saturday at the second Athletics Invitational. Shaun Patrick threw 8.55m in the Shotput and 19.14m in the Discus which places him well for the ISA Athletics Carnival. Sasha Jansz had a strong throw of 19.14m in the 14 Years girls Discus which also places her well for the ISA Athletics Carnival. The second Invitational Athletics Carnival will be at E.S Marks this Saturday”. Mr Nick Walker
Pastoral Care Focus
This week, students continue with the focus on Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind from the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. The principle behind this habit is that mental creation precedes physical creation. All things are created twice. We create them first in our minds, and then we work to bring them into physical existence. By taking control of our own first creation, we can write or re-write our own scripts, thus taking some control and responsibility for the outcome.
