Snowsports Nationals

Congratulations to Nicolas Fitzhenry, Ethan McFarlane, Julia Murphy and Sienna Wessels for qualifying for Snowsports Nationals, which will be held next week at Perisher.

Sport

For our NSNA Netball teams, Sports Finals continue for the next couple of weeks and if available, pop along to provide your support. Redlands sporting fixtures are released weekly and are available on Redlands Pulse. Pictured this week is the U13A Boys’ Football team at their final last week. Athletics also had a meet over the weekend and we had some wonderful results. Pictured is Lachlan Binnekamp at the long jump pit; Lockie achieved two PBs. Summer sport started this week, it’s fantastic to see so many students involved in two representative sports this year. We thoroughly hope students enjoy the upcoming sporting season and the opportunities that Rep and Non-Rep sport present.

Behaviour Awareness Survey

You may be aware that Yr 7 completed the annual Behaviour Awareness Survey this week.

The Survey is anonymous, the aim being to collect data from the student body about the Redlands school climate. The Survey gives students the opportunity to provide feedback on the school environment and to acknowledge students which contribute positively to Redlands or voice concerns. Once data is collected, this is provided to the Year Advisor, Head of Secondary School, Counsellor and the Dean of Students.

Self Care

With the number of assessments due this week, Yr 7 are looking forward to a rest over the weekend. During Pastoral Care on Wednesday students discussed stress management and nine tips on how to cope during times of increased responsibility. Students also conducted gratitude activities with their Tutor Group.

Whilst sporting commitments and assessments continue, we ask that you prioritise some self care activities (away from computers and small devices) for your child over the weekend. Suggestions include a family movie, cooking session, time outside and of course some extra sleep. You may find ReachOut’s article How to be Awesome at Self Care useful.
