Redlands Foundation Scholarship Fund
This year our efforts continue to support the means-tested Redlands Foundation Scholarship Fund and we will be launching a Scholarship Appeal to honour a much respected Redlander who attended the School from Kindergarten and graduated as Dux of the Class of 1959, Dr Sue Morey. Dr Morey went on to study medicine at Sydney University and in 1979 was awarded her Master’s Degree in Public Health from Harvard University in the USA.
Dr Morey made an enormous contribution with over 60 years of service in the area of community health within cities as well as across regional and rural Australia and is perhaps best known for her dedicated leadership as Chief Health Officer for NSW from 1988 to 1994. In 1999 she was made a Member of the Order of Australia for her service to the development and promotion of improved public health services.
She has stayed connected to Redlands and our community, and we are honouring and celebrating her outstanding service achievements and standards of excellence with the establishment of a new means- tested scholarship. This will help our School provide a life changing opportunity to a talented young person who would not otherwise be able to attend a School like Redlands. Please contact me directly if you wish to receive any further details.
Legacy Gift of Class of 2022
Our Yr 12 students have displayed an overwhelming interest to continue the Redlands tradition and build on the previous success of the Yr 12 Legacy Gift initiative. This year’s team comprises of 33 students, representing the Class of 2022. The team has identified possible fundraising projects which will be announced later this term. Participation in this program develops important skills such as leadership, teamwork and communication. Stay tuned!
