Young Change Agents Design Challenge 16 November

Young Change Agents provides design-thinking based workshops for students to scaffold entrepreneurial learning. Yr 9 will engage in a day long design challenge to focus on a specific issue by working through empathy, problem definition, ideation, validation, prototyping and presenting their idea in support of the issue. Further information will shared with parents and students through the HSIE Department.   

NAPLAN – School Readiness Test 19 November

Year 7 and 9 students will participate in the NAPLAN School Readiness Test during their usual English lessons on Friday 19 November. The 20 minute online practice test is a requirement for all schools to undertake as part of their transition to NAPLAN online next year. Individual student results are not recorded. In preparation, all students will require a fully charged laptop and a set of compatible earphones.

Student Attendance

If a student is absent from school an explanation must be provided by a parent/carer to ssabsence@redlands.nsw.edu.au. If your child is absent due to illness, we thank you for providing details of your child’s symptoms. Any student absent with COVID-19 related symptoms must complete a PCR COVID-19 test and evidence of a negative test result must be provided to the School prior to the student returning to campus.

Student Achievements

Congratulations to Daisy Thomas for being invited by Snow Australia to represent Australia in the Europa Cup and the Junior World Championships in Switzerland Term 1 next year! Daisy has been an avid skier since she was young and she has represented Redlands in several Snowsports events. This is an incredible opportunity for Daisy and we wish her all the best with this experience and look forward to following and supporting her during her time away.     

Congratulations to Grace Durrant for qualifying for the State Surfing Championships in Illawarra again this year. Grace has been an avid surfer for quite some time and also competed in the State Surfing Championships in Coffs Harbour last year. Best of luck to Grace!
