Year 8
Black Dog Institute’s One Step Forward Initiative
We have now completed the month of walking and we are incredibly grateful for the students who participated for their hard work fundraising and promoting mental health throughout September.
Together our team raised $3004.
Our funds raised will go towards helping researchers:
- Researching suicide prevention through projects like Under the Radar to uncover better ways of supporting people.
- Expanding the Black Dog Institutes landmark Future Proofing trial which aims to reduce the onset of depression in teenagers using smartphone technologies.
- The Black Dog Institute’s National Mental Health education programs for community members, workplaces and health professionals.
Congratulations to our Yr 8 Redlands Team:

Perspectives: Your School in Focus
This term Redlands is once again participating in the Perspectives: Your School in Focus suite of surveys, administered by AIS NSW. All staff, Students in Years 5-11 and parents are invited to complete a confidential and anonymous survey which focus on five important domains: School Environment, Teaching and Learning, Student Wellbeing, Leadership and Community. Gathering information about these areas will be of significant benefit to us as a community to help identify our school’s strengths, as well as opportunities for future improvement.
The online survey will take approximately 20 minutes and can be completed on any device. It will be available until Friday 5 November 2021 for students and Sunday 7 November for parents and carers. Details about how parents can access the survey have been shared via email. Students will be completing the survey during Tutor Time.
Thank you, in advance, for your participation in this survey. Community input is important to the success of our continued school improvement and will help to inform the School’s plans for 2022 and beyond.
Term 4 Events
After the Assessment Block, the students will participate in a variety of curricular and cocurricular activities designed to engage and extend them in the closing weeks of the school year. Initially, they will receive feedback for their assessments, reflect on their achievements and disappointments and then set future goals. The goal setting will take place with their Tutor and be communicated to parents.
