From The Principal

It has been wonderful to have all Year Groups back on campus this week, with the sounds of students filling the classrooms, corridors and grounds. So many staff have commented on how quickly students have made the transition and Monday was quite an emotional day, as friends reconnected and enjoyed being together in person.

Return of School Sport

This week we were pleased to receive updated guidelines supporting School Sport to return from this Monday 1 November. Many of these guidelines are in line with the community sports settings which are already in place, such as the requirement for students aged 16 and older to be fully vaccinated to play or train at certain community recreational facilities. Further information will be communicated to students who are affected by this requirement.

It has also been advised that School Sport should be done in defined cohorts and Sports activities across different cohorts are discouraged. Interschool competitions such as ISA and IPSHA are not scheduled to resume until Term 1 2022.

We are very much looking forward to providing opportunities for students to resume their Sport programs next week. The Junior School Sport program will feature separate Year Group Sport activities on Wednesdays, along with a Football House Gala Day on Saturday 6 November with separate times for each Year Group. Secondary School Sport resumes with cohort-based Representative Sport training and cohort-based Non-Representative Sport. Further details are provided in the Secondary Sport and Junior Sport sections of Note Day.

COVID-19 Vaccinations

Thank you to the many parents and carers of students aged between 12 and 18 who have either uploaded their child’s COVID-19 Vaccination certificates to Pulse or advised us of the date that their child’s second vaccination dose is due. For those parents who are yet to do so, you can either upload their certificates or make a note on your child’s file via this User Guide. If you require any assistance with this, please email feedback@redlands.nsw.edu.au. Please note that the individual vaccination status of students remains confidential in alignment with the Australian Privacy Principles and the New South Wales Health Privacy Principles.
