Drama and Theatre
Welcome Back
We are thrilled to welcome back our Drama and Theatre students this week on the Senior Campus. They have adapted to learning in so many ways this year and we are so proud of their resilience and creativity. This week our Captains for 2022 have been inspired by leadership training with Burn Bright and we look forward to seeing how they develop their ideas and own unique leadership style. Our Extra Subject and Cocurricular classes continue online across all campuses due to limits on classes that cross over various cohorts and restrictions with singing. We look forward to seeing the filmed end of year performances for these classes, which will be made available to families on the various online learning platforms across the School.
Gala Arts
Following the postponement, due to COVID-19 we are pleased to announce that Gala Arts will be taking place this term, in a modified format.
This event will take place in a similar format to last year, using the various Performing Arts venues across the Senior Campus, and will be professionally filmed and edited for release at the end of the year. The event will be filmed on the weekend of November 13 and 14.
Our wonderful Year 12 finalists will be unable to join us for this filming as they will be midway through their examinations. This means that any items where Year 12 students had a prominent role, will no longer take place. To this end, Gala Arts will be presented as a showcase instead of a competition to recognise the remaining finalists.
Although this will be different from the regular event, we hope it will nevertheless allow for a wonderful celebration of House spirit and the amazing talent in the Arts at Redlands.
