Community Update
It was a genuine pleasure and privilege to be able to attend the Yr 12 Final Chapel and Farewell Assembly this afternoon. I have been inspired by the resilience and endeavour demonstrated by this impressive cohort of students in their final years at Redlands, closely supported of course by their families and teachers.
At important occasions such as these, we give thanks for the strength of our Redlands community as we continue to work in partnership with parents and carers to make this time as positive and enriching as possible for our students and their families. Our Heads of Sections will be communicating with parents and carers in order to advise, support and guide our community’s return to On-Campus Learning. We are ready to adjust these plans as needed to ensure the best educational opportunities for our students, while prioritising the safety and wellbeing of our staff and students. A reminder that all COVID-19 related communications to parents, including return to On-Campus Learning information, is posted on the COVID-19 Page of Redlands Pulse.
The Redlands Parents and Friends Association (RPFA) along with our Parent Contact Groups (PCGs) continue to keep our community connected, included and supported. It was a pleasure to attend a number of community meetings through Zoom this week to discuss current and future programs and activities. The RPFA is drawn from dedicated and passionate parent and carer volunteers who selflessly support the growth and prosperity of our School and the wider Redlands community. Parents and carers who are interested in shaping the future of the School are invited and encouraged to attend the Redlands Parents and Friends Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) via Zoom on at 6.30pm on Thursday October 28. This is a great opportunity for new parents to hear how our Association works within, and for, our valued community. Please RSVP for the AGM here. The AGM will include:
- a report from our Principal, Mr Stephen Webber
- a review of the RPFA’s activities this year, along with plans for 2022
- the election of the RPFA Committee
The meeting will run for approximately one hour. You don’t need to be a Committee member to attend and there is no obligation to nominate for positions or volunteer for activities. If you are interested in a position within the RPFA then please have a look at this document that details the various roles and responsibilities.
It is always a pleasure to hear what our alumni community have been up to and I was inspired to read the impressive journey of Class of 1955 alumni, Barbara Wellesley AM. Barbara’s dedicated and passionate service to the community, particularly Good Beginnings Australia, promoting childhood and family support services, along with her support of a range of child health organisations was recognised with her awarding of a Member of the Order of Australia in 2006. Barbara’s inspiring story, along with an update from the Foundation team, can be enjoyed here.
I remain grateful for the continued guidance and support our community provides and, as ever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
