Athletics 

Athletics NSW have recently announce the date for the 2021 NSW ALL SCHOOLS ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS (Thursday 9th – Sunday 12th December, 2021) with registrations due to open shortly. 

This event is open to all high school students in New South Wales – no qualification standards are required to enter. This year’s Championships will be delivered in a COVID-safe environment, at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre.  Athletics NSW are currently working on providing our network with more information – including a draft timetable of events, ticketing information, our merchandise collection for the event, and much more.

Basketball

While continuing to learn from home, students will have a home workout programmed on Sportly each week, as well as a live Zoom Basketball session on Thursday afternoon during sport time. These sessions will cater for students who do/do not have a hoop and beginner/advanced options will also be available to cater for all players within the program. A reminder to ensure you are completing all activities in line with the current NSW Health Guidelines. We look forward to seeing you back on campus in the coming weeks.  

Sailing

Last week saw the return of the Redlands E-Racing Series. On Thursday, our sailors competed against each other in the 49er Class. Congratulations to the top three sailors of the week; Izaac Nisbet, Hugo Baird and Oliver Noakes. We also had the opportunity to compete in an E-Race against Cranbrook. Congratulations to all students who raced.

Touch Football

We hope you are enjoying the online Touch Football program that we have been putting together, we are hopeful of returning to more face-to-face training and coaching shortly. The next instalment of the program can be found on Redlands Pulse (Touch Football) and are also posted on the Redlands Secondary School Sport iLearn page. A reminder to complete all activities in accordance with the relevant NSW Health Guidelines. We look forward to seeing you back at school in the coming weeks. 

Zoom Fitness 

Zoom Fitness sessions are great way to start your day and maintain your fitness. Live Zoom sessions will run on Tuesday and Thursday morning and afternoons. Students are encouraged to attend as many sessions as they wish, and we encourage all members of the same household to join in the sessions. We have added a new Yoga session on Tuesday afternoons this term.

ZOOM FITNESS – TIMETABLE

A reminder for the Zoom sessions, that students need to be:

  • Online and ready to go prior to the Zoom starting 
  • If students are more than 10 minutes late they will not be admitted into the Zoom Session
  • Zooms set to mute with cameras on 
  • Have a water bottle and a gym towel 
  • Please wear appropriate fitness attire (in line with mufti day attire ie: no singlets, appropriate length shorts).

In addition to this, any student wishing to continue their preparation for their Summer Rep representative Sport is encourage to access all of the sessions and information that is up on iLearn under their relevant sport.
