Year 9

Welcome back to Term 4! It is hoped that all families had a chance to rest, spend time together and enjoy a few picnics outdoors over these last two weeks.  Students participated in a Secondary School Assembly on Tuesday with messages from Ms Gemma Van de Peer and Ms Marita Jansons to welcome students back to school and provide an overview of the term ahead. On Wednesday, Yr 9 had a Year Assembly to discuss specific details regarding Student Voice Survey and Yr 9 Examination Block. We look forward to welcoming students back to lessons face-to-face as soon as possible.

Welcome to new student, Hannah Brown, who has joined us starting this term in Yr 9 at Redlands!

Please join me in congratulating Katharine Boase as she fills in for the Dean of Activities position in Term 4.  Katharine is an incredible teacher, leader, colleague and support for our students.  We will miss her in our Yr 9 team and wish her all the best as she takes on this new role. While Katharine is away, please join me in congratulating and welcoming Ms Alyssha Clarke who will be the Acting 9 Assistant Year Advisor in Term 4.  Alyssha is a passionate and enthusiastic Drama teacher who many of our cohort have had the chance to meet through their Yr 8 and Yr 9 Drama elective.  We are very excited to have her on our team this term.

Year 9 Exam Block – Week 4

Parents will have received communication from Ms Gemma Van de Peer with specific information around the Yr 9 Examination Block. The process for examinations and what students should be doing in between logging in to sit examinations is included in this communication and was shared with students specifically via our Yr 9 Meeting this week.

The timetable for the Yr 9 Yearly Examinations is linked in Redlands Pulse for parents and in iLearn Pastoral Page for students.

Mullets for Mental Health

Thank you for all your support in raising money for Black Dog Institute’s Mullets for Mental Health.  As a school, we raised $16,956! This is an incredible contribution to a strong program and extremeley necessary cause.

Sport

All students will have access to Zoom Fitness Sessions and Yoga this term.

Zoom Fitness Sessions: Tuesday (before and after school), Thursday (before and after school), Friday (before school)

A schedule with Zoom links will be available on the Secondary Sports page on Pulse. Specific details for each sport have been communicated to students and are available on the relevant iLearn page.

End of Term 3 Assembly

Congratulations and a job well done to Jack Keogh, Will Howard and Anneka Steele who enthusiastically volunteered to present and represent Yr 9 in the End of Term 3 Assembly. These students provided an overview of Yr 9 in Term 3 and stepped up to take advantage of this leadership opportunity.
