Year 11
General
In the past two weeks, we were delighted to have many Yr 11s volunteer their time and effort in participating in various school events. Their impressive collaboration working as a team, excellent communication skills, friendly manner and cheerfulness were commended on every occasion by staff, students and our community.
We would like to thank Jennifer Psaroulis, Ilann Labouze, Lindsay McNeil, Kaitlyn Jay, Lili Price, Sydney Stuckmann, Rebecca Faurby and Kieran Patel for their different roles in supporting the annual Language event, A Night to Delight. The fundraising raffle for the Cambodia Service trip they organised was definitely one of the highlights of the night.
Representing our school as Ambassadors during the North Shore Schools’ Expo, thank you to Annabelle White, Alisha Karunagaran, Patrick Friedlander, Lili Price, Kaitlyn Jay, Madeline Bates, Freddie McKewen, Holly Watts, Josh Plato, Penelope Butler, Isabel Binnekamp and Lachlan van der Pluijm, for giving up part of their weekend to help promote our school. They were enthusiastic in answering enquiries from prospective students and parents.
A smooth running Parent Teacher night cannot be achieved without help from volunteers, who usually set up approximately 80 tables and 240 chairs, organise name tags, usher parents to the right spot and charge the bell. So far, all the Parent Teacher nights have been supported by our Yr 11s. Thank you to Chloe Church, Zoë Withington, Kieran Petal, Chloe Woodward, Madeline Bates, Ilann Labouze, Josiah Tea and Joh Sawa for their great assistance at the Yr 8 and 9 evenings at the beginning of the term.
We would also like to thank all the students who volunteered for Gate Duties on both the Secondary and Junior Campuses for their time, warm approach and punctuality while Year 12s are away doing their Trial Examinations.
Drought Relief Fundraiser By Zoe Kimber and Freddie McKewen
Yr 11 students Zoe Kimber and Freddie McKewen have initiated a fundraiser for NSW farmers impacted by the drought. We will be having a sausage sizzle on the Senior Campus at lunchtime next Thursday 23 August. We will also be having a cake stall, think CWA (Country Womens’ Association) style cupcakes and slices! This is where you come in…. If you are able to encourage your child to contribute an item to the cake stall, it would be much appreciated.
HSC Meeting
This week all the HSC students had a meeting with Mr Randall, our Dean of Studies, about the arrangement of the yearly examinations and Yr 12 HSC courses. Mr Randall explained the HSC requirement of units, Extension subjects choices and Assessment scaling. Should students and parents have any questions about HSC courses and assessments, please contact Mr Randall for further information.
