Year 12
Tutor Schedule
In line with its core purpose, we have been focusing on integrating a flexible schedule of experiences for our Yr 12s during their participation in ‘Lock-down Tutor Time’. Students have options of meeting one-on-one with their tutors; using zoom break-out rooms to chat informally with friends; engaging with Chapel Postcards; picking through favourite comfort food; or participating in structured activities such as Redlands Race to Tokyo Olympic Challenge.
As Tutor Time pauses for two weeks while the cohort undertake their Trial Examinations, we hope that students take the opportunity to integrate what has been most useful for them from the range of activities offered.
Trial Examinations
In the midst of changing schedules and timetables, our Yr 12s have been steadily preparing for their Trial Examinations. While the process is understandably stressful, it is possibly helpful to distinguish with the young adult – currently lurking in your upstairs area or basement – the differences between the useful tensions of incipient performance and unconstructive rumination or catastrophising.
The Trial (and Final) Examinations are not an ultimate guide to your potential, life-path or self-worth. They are merely feedback on what you were able to achieve on the day. Be attentive to and use the information these upcoming examinations provide, because this is their only purpose.

Attendance and Routine
Students are expected to attend all Zoom lessons. If a student is unable to attend any class, please promptly provide an explanation via email to ssabsence@redlands.nsw.edu.au. As Remote Learning continues, we’re learning the value and importance of structure and routine in maintaining engagement in learning. Mornings are key to setting a good routine for the day. If your child is finding it more challenging to get up in the morning, help them find something to look forward to in the morning, whether that is a cup of tea, a bike ride or a refreshing shower. Sticking to a routine will help them feel more productive and fulfilled throughout the day and make sleep easier in the evening.
