Achievements

There are numerous students from Yr 8 who are involved in the State Interschools Snowsports Championships. We wish all students the best with their individual events, and look forward to hearing of their achievements.

National Science Week

Yr 8 had a guest speaker visit this week from Macquarie University. Jason Twamley’s research currently is based on magnetic quantum engineering, and his explanation of current study was fascinating; what do floating frogs have to tell us about building a zero-gravity laboratory at Macquarie University?

Sunday 19 – Wednesday 22 August

A group of Yrs 7-10 Secondary School musicians will be participating in the Annual HICES Music Festival next week, to be held at Stanwell Tops Conference Centre. After completing a thorough audition process last term, Eden Borrie was selected to participate in this three day Music Camp, that culminates with an exciting Music Festival Concert at The Sydney Town Hall on Wednesday 22 August. The HICES Music Festival has provided an outstanding opportunity for young musicians in HICES schools to gather and experience musical excellence. Under the direction of many well-respected conductors, the Festival this year will involve over 400 students and staff from the HICES Schools Association, in rehearsing a broad selection of repertoire across various Music ensembles. Eden will have the privilege to work in association with internationally acclaimed Choral and Orchestral Conductor, Mr Paul Jarman, a well-loved and respected Australian composer. We wish Eden well.
