SMF Celebration! – Wednesday 9 June 2021

In order to thank the 200+ staff and students who helped ensure the festival’s success, on Wednesday 9 June at 1pm, a cake was served in the Upper Gallery of the Music Centre, with the prizes to be awarded for the highest number of Festival Tickets sold at this time! Congratulations to the Hunt, Houchell, Wilson and Ramsey families for their great efforts in ticket selling for this year’s show! Thanks to our sponsors at Turramurra Music, In Tune Music & Optimum Percussion for their generous prize donation.

HSC Trial Performance Examinations 2021

Congratulations to all our Yr 12 HSC Music 1, 2 & Extension students for a very successful Trial Examination day today! Students presented their complete programs of Performances and Compositions, supported by a team of our specialists in the supporting ensemble. We are so proud of the music you are making, and wish you all the best as you reflect on the feedback of our external examiners to guide you to even higher heights in the weeks ahead.

Senior Vocal Competition – Tomorrow Night: Friday 11 June 2021

Tomorrow night! We wish our finalists all the best as they prepare to perform two contrasting works in the Senior Vocal Competition for 2021. Kicking off in the Edwards Auditorium at 6pm, performers may each bring two guests with seats secured through Trybooking.

Our adjudicator for this year will be the magnificent Clarissa Spata – a world respected performer across classical and contemporary genres. Most recently you may have seen her as a quarterfinalist on The Voice in 2020. We look forward to her valuable contribution to the evening.

‘Small Ensemble’ focus for Senior Cocurricular as we round off the term!

With plans afoot for our Annual Music Awards Dinner in Term 3 (stay tuned!), our Senior Strings, Bands & Choirs have all divided into smaller groups for student-led preparation of new pieces! All groups will be showcasing their ‘works in progress’ for their peers next week, as we decide on the line-up of entertainment for our Dinner! (Don’t worry, groups that miss the Dinner line-up will be performing their pieces for guests in our Open Rehearsals next term!) Here are our three student-led Senior Choir groups prepping for their A Cappella ‘battles’ next week!

Lunchtime Concert Series – Senior Campus (Week 8)

Thank you to all our performers and guests who have come to cheer on our instrumental and vocal learners in their journey. This Friday sees the end of our Semester One studio concert series. We look forward to celebrating the growth between now and the Semester Two concerts for all our students.

Senior Cocurricular Music Photos – Wednesday 16 June 2021

Ahead of our Co-curricular Music photos this coming Wednesday, students are reminded to be in full school uniform with blazer. To assist the smooth-running of the process, all students must bring their Student ID Card to their photo call time at the Fahl Garden, but they do not need to bring their instruments for these photos. Wet Weather venue will be the Edwards Auditorium.
