This is Redlands
Our on campus engagement with the Redlands School community continued this week as we welcomed parents and carers to the ‘Supporting Young People in Relationships and Sexuality Education’ parent workshop hosted by Dr Tessa Opie and our Principal, Mr Stephen Webber. This workshop was mainly aimed at parents and carers of students from Yrs 6 to 12, however, a number of our Junior School parents and carers also attended. A reminder that Dr Opie will be running a future workshop that will focus on parents and carers of our younger students. We are delighted to be working in partnership with Dr Opie in the review and development of this important area and her parent presentation can be viewed here until Monday 24 May.
I am constantly reminded of the importance of sharing our impressive facilities with our parents and carers and am excited to announce that we will be hosting tours of the Redlands Learning Hub in Terms 3 and 4. The dates and times of these tours will be released shortly. In the interim, I invite those who are interested to view our virtual tour of the hub that was developed last year. As we continue to develop further community engagement opportunities on campus, we encourage a continued connection to the significant and diverse experience of our Class and Year Group parents, the RPFA and Friends of Groups that support our many and varied community activities.
Earlier this week I had the privilege of viewing the wonderful range of creative artwork submitted by students from across the School to feature on specially commissioned greeting cards. Of the numerous passionately created artworks, 12 were chosen for production and these are now available for pre-order.
The Redlands Online Auction is up and running with some wonderful items up for bid. The auction is open to all and will close on Wednesday, 26 May at 2.30pm. Get your bids in early! Proceeds raised through both the auction and the sale of the Arts Cards will be directed to the Belinda Oxley Scholarship Appeal.
And finally, a reminder that the Redlands Parents Prayer Group provides our current parent community with the opportunity to come together in prayer. The Group is now meeting in Week 4 of each term in the David Armstrong Room at St Peter’s Church (with parking located on Waters Rd), with the next gathering scheduled for this evening from 8.00 to 9.00pm.
Thank you for your continued guidance and support and please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Engagement team should you have any feedback, suggestions or questions.
